Diesel spill in Quincy contained
Broadway Street in Quincy is now open after an afternoon diesel fuel spill closed a four block area near Blessing Hospital. Witnesses say a container fell off a vehicle with a Missouri license plate. They say the driver of the vehicle came back, picked up the tank and took off immediately.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office is investigating a case in which a 16-year-old male in rural Basco, Ill., was shot Thursday evening, according to Sheriff John Jefferson.

Student hurt in bus accident
A Quincy Junior High student complained of a neck injury after the bus he was on rear-ended a Jeep about 3 p.m. Monday. The accident happened on State Street just west of Carol. The bus was carrying 36 students. The boy was taken to Blessing Hospital as a precaution.
